Big freeze to continue into the New Year »
The Met Office has announced that cold temperatures will continue into
next year, with heavy snowfall and widespread frost forecast.
Northern and Eastern areas will be hit worst, with further sleet and snow showers predicted.
Up to 20cm of snow is expected to fall in the Scottish Highlands overnight, with temperatures forecast as low as -15°.

Inverness’s Hogmanay party has been cancelled due to heavy snow and deteriorating weather conditions.
Police are urging travellers not to go to Inverness tonight, and to only make necessary journeys.
