A 54-year-old male climber was the third person killed by an onslaught of avalanches in the Scottish Highlands today.
Mountain rescue teams were sent to the Liatach Ridge in Torrindon after the man’s friend alerted police of his disappearance. The man was found conscious and cold, and was thought to have had an arm injury.

Four adults have died after contracting swine flu, raising the number of Scottish deaths caused by the disease to 62.
Three of the four victims had underlying health problems, whilst one other from the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area did not.

Asthmatic Alex Salmond receives swine flu jab »
First Minister Alex Salmond received the swine flu jab at his local GP surgery in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire on Monday.
The 54-year-old suffers from asthma, so is part of one of the ‘at-risk’ groups most likely to contract the H1N1 virus.
Salmond also received his seasonal flu jab when he was vaccinated earlier this week.
