A senior police officer has slammed sectarianism at football matches after a teen Hearts fan was convicted of sectarian behaviour on Monday.
19-year-old Callum Dean, from Edinburgh, was fined £350 at Aberdeen Sherriff Court on Monday and banned from entering football stadiums after a sectarian incident at the Aberdeen v. Hearts clash on Saturday 9th January.
Grampian Police Superintendent Mark Cooper said: “We will continue to deal with such behaviour in a positive manner in partnership with Aberdeen Football Club.”
“It should be clear that we will not tolerate any sectarian, offensive or abusive behaviour at Pittodrie Stadium.”
