The eight-year-old Cocker Spaniel, named Matt, was running across the ice whilst on a walk with his owner’s neighbour when he fell in

A water rescue unit used specialist equipment and ladders to reach the dog and rescue it from the pond.

Grateful owner Sheila Johnston hailed the rescuers as heroes.
