David Tennant has been voted the best Doctor Who of all time by a poll of 2,000 people.

The 38-year-old Scottish actor is due to leave the role after this year’s two-part “End of Time” special, which concludes on New Year’s Day.

Other Scots stars in the survey included Ewan McGregor, who was the top choice to play the next Doctor.

However, Northampton-born actor Matt Smith, who has been cast to play the role, came just sixth in the rankings.
